Bangladesh vs Pakistan 1st ODI: Statistical Highlights: Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 79 runs in the first ODI at Mirpur and with that, Bangladesh have managed to register their first ODI win in 16 years. Here are some of the other statistical highlights from that match.

  • Mohammad Rizwan, who made his debut for Pakistan today is Pakistan’s 200th ODI player. Saad Nasim is the 201st.
  • Pakistan is the fourth country to use over 200 players in ODI cricket. England lead the list with 236 players followed by Australia (206) and India (205).
  • Last time Pakistan played ODI match without both Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi was 8 years ago when they took on Sri Lanka at UAE in 2007.
  • Tamim Iqbal scored his 29th fifty, the most by any Bangladesh batsman beating Shakib Al Hasan (28). But later Tamim went on to score a century and that cancels out this fifty. So now both are tied with 28 fifties each.
  • This is first time that TWO Bangladesh batsmen have scored 100s in the same One Day International.
  • Mushfiqur Rahim’s 100 off 68 balls, the third fastest in the history of Bangladesh cricket.
  • 187 run partnership for the third wicket is the highest partnership for Bangladesh in ODIs beating 175* between Habibul Bashar and Rajin Saleh against Kenya, 2006.
  • 10-0-74-0, Saeed Ajmal’s most expensive spell in his ODI career.
  • Bangladeshi batsmen scored 42 Boundaries (36 Fours and 6 Sixes)- the most Bangladesh have hit in an ODI.
  • 329-6 is Bangladesh’s highest total in ODIs.
  • Azhar Ali is 5th Pakistan batsman to score 50 on captaincy debut in ODIs. Asif Iqbal, Majid Khan, Aamir Sohail and Misbah-ul-Haq are the other four.
  • This is Bangladesh’s first win against Pakistan in an international match since getting the Test status in 1999.
  • Saeed Ajmal has now played 112 ODIs without Man of Match award, This is the most ODIs by anyone who is not wicket-keeper.
