Match 44 saw Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) host Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Lucknow and squander an opportunity to settle scores with their opponents and slump to a defeat after two consecutive wins.

Visiting side RR won the toss and chose to field and the decision seemed quite justified after they managed to pick two wickets in the first two overs. LSG skipper KL Rahul (76 off 48) and Deepak Hooda (50 off 31) then steadied the ship in a rather aggressive fashion, but once both of them departed, the rest of LSG's batters couldn't provide a final push thanks to some very good bowling both at the top and at the death by Sandeep Sharma (2 for 31). LSG finished at 196/5.

Jos Buttler (34 off 18) started the chase in typical Jos Buttler style as RR racked up 60 in the powerplay. But Buttler's dismissal triggered a dismal period for RR where they lost 3 wickets for 18 runs in just 16 balls. From that point on, aided by some very poor fielding from LSG, RR skipper Sanju Samson (71* off 33) and Dhruv Jurel(52* off 34) took RR home without any hiccups.

Here are all the stats and records from LSG versus RR IPL 2024 match:
