Days of Future – Past: will they rise to reign again: The Indian cricket team has had a roller coaster ride in the last few months. As words touched history with Bangladesh’s first series win against the men in blue, team India was surrounded by speculations, questions and doubts.

The year started with the biggest league in the world of cricket, the World Cup 2015, with the Indian team being the reigning champions ‘we won’t give it back’ was the line every Indian held on to and it looked quite that way when they went on to win every match to reach to the semis, though their match against Australia broke all the dreams and cast India out of the league just before the finale. There it all began, and the first time series win of Bangladesh against India added a fuming fire to the spark. Dhoni’s captaincy, Virat’s form, Jadeja’s presence, missing pace bowlers, The openers and the poor batting line up every question was asked with hundreds of cameras and thousands of people watching.

The last win did not bring much ease to the players or to the BCCI. This series has left India with questions to answer.
Questioning the captaincy of the Best captain India has ever produced is not the solution, the present scenario needs a team work, that includes even the board and the support team working on just one goal, the betterment of their performance.

The middle order still carries a question mark as Ajinkya Rahane was replaced by Raydu in the last series with Dhoni promoting himself at number to strengthen the volatile middle order. Virat’s poor form in the series will need him to gain confidence and flow to come back on track. A strong bowling line up will surely be of great help. A shock wave is now around with the news that Ajinkya Rahane has a got the captain’s cap in India’s tour of Zimbawe starting this July. The Indian team has been juggling with the bowlers and are failing to have the asset they should when required.

Ignorance or too much faith on a few individuals; what is the cause for this is hard to say. But the recent loss has provided the transparency that was much needed, to see through the team that needs a better line up, a dependable middle order, a smashing opening partnership and an attacking pack of bowlers.

With Dhoni and Virat on rest, Ajinkya Rahane has now got to showcase his talents and secure a place. Zimbabwe’s tour will help India experiment and form a better team if the opportunity is utilised well.

Rohit Sharma is an asset for our team, an emerging captain as well, a tinge of determination added to his abilities will do us wonders. Jadeja did play his part in the last series but a consistency from his side will make every win possible. The bowling pack, needs more experience and guidance, to attain the level of consistency we expect. A chance needs to be given to the young pacer Bhuveneshwar Kumar.

R Ashwin is on the right track of late, his current form with wickets and fair economy rate will be a savior for our team; but more than anything the way he has been bowling is exactly how he should. The mindset (wicket taking) is perfect for the leading Indian spinner to have, his body is coming right behind his balls, the release, the tweek, the revolutions, his trajectory and flight look just ideal for a off-spinner, with the head he has on his shoulders.

India is a cricket loving country with a cricketer in every street of every state a storehouse of talents with a little efforts they can go back to be the reigning name in the cricketing world.

In the coming days, by the end of India’s tour of Zimbabwe our captain cool will hopefully have a more sorted team to play with and the break will surely add the calm that has been recently missing. Some time to unwind, rest and relax for Virat Kohli will take out the weariness of the busy schedule and revive his form.

A couple of losses don’t overshadow the fact that the Indian team is the one of the Best, a tough fight for any opposing in any condition and around the world in limited overs cricket, and is second in the one-day international list. Wins and losses are a part of this game, you neither win all days, nor do you end second every time.

With T20 World cup on the cards now, India if utilizes the time given to them to go back to the drawing board, revisit their strategies and plans. Wins against Sri Lanka and South Africa the series and revive the lost glory. The coming months will decide a lot about the future of Indian cricket. Speculations on Dhoni will either be cleared or will give way to a new captain as further loss will put his position in danger and as we have heard he is ready to step down for a better future of the team.

Dhoni’s juggling has found us a new name in the fourth position of the batting line up that was lost after he pushed himself down the batting order, his past records and current runs in the last series is evidence of his worth. A bright future awaits the team if we see the names that stars the team. These tough time will surely make us appreciate the good times that lies ahead. This downfall was a much needed phase for the team to realise and work on its uplifment for a stronger team. Best wishes and prayers will always be with the them.
