Delhi cricketer Harsh Tyagi picked a five-wicket haul having bowled just 2.3 overs and didn’t concede a single run in a Delhi Daredevils School Cup match between Billabong International High School and Gurukul School at the Sector-34 ground in Noida on November 25.

Tyagi isn’t a new name in Delhi cricket as he has previously represented the state team at Under-19 level and is currently a part of the Delhi U-23 squad and playing for them has picked up 17 wickets in 4 matches by far in the season.

Batting first Billabong managed to score 261 runs in their 20 overs. Opener Kavish Gaur scored a half century and ended his inning on 74. The No.3 batsman Hrithik Kapoor was the best batsman for his team and remained unbeaten on 85 from 46 deliveries that he scored with the help of 13 boundaries and a six.

In their reply, Gurukul were never really into the chase. They kept losing wickets while no batsman stood out to score and the highest someone managed was the number 8 who scored 13. Harsh who was the captain of the Billabong school team got the first three wickets of the inning with the first being a caught behind, the second a bowled and the third was leg-before-wicket.

The other bowlers too chipped in with wickets and Gurukul crumbled under pressure of the huge total ahead of them and the falling wickets. The skipper having bowled two overs of his spell up front came back later to wrap things up and bagged the last two wickets in the first three balls of his 3rd over.

Tyagi’s splendid bowling effort bowled out the entire Gurukul team for just 46 runs. He bowled just 2.3 overs, didn’t give away a single run and claimed as many as five wickets. The organizers were later quoted saying that they had never seen someone bowl with such figures in a Twenty20 fixture. He was quite understandably awarded the man of the match for his performance.
