World Giants (WOG) will lock horns with India Maharajas (INM) in the 2nd match of the Legends League Cricket 2023 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Saturday (March 11). This will be the first game for the Giants, while the Maharajas lost their opening match against Asia Lions on Friday. Asia Lions won the toss and elected to bat. They had a shaky start as they lost two of their top three within a short period. However, it didn’t disturb Tharanga as he held one side and rotated the strike whenever possible. Misbah ul Haq then joined him, and they had a partnership of over 100 runs which turned the innings around. Tharanga scored a brilliant 40, while Misbah could score a fantastic 73 off 50 balls. But then they started to lose wickets and somehow could manage to post a total of 165 for the loss of six wickets after the end of the first innings. Parvinder Awana and Stuart Binny scalped two wickets each for the Maharajas.

Like their counterparts, the Maharajas did not have a good start either. But then Gautam Gambhir and Murali Vijay had a partnership worth a half-century next and brought the Maharajas back on track. Several partnerships were formed next, but none could solidify it to a stronger total. As a result, the Maharajas fell short of nine runs by the end, and the Lions won the match.
