India vs Australia the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 semi finals: Overview: India and Australia have come a long way defeating series of obstacles on the way. These two are probably the best cricket side in the world with Australia ranking 1st and India 2nd in ICC ODI ranking. These two cricket giants clash on Thursday 26th March in the semi-final of ICC World Cup 2015. In other words you can also term this as the “Clash of the Titans”.

India:

The sleeping giant has finally woken up. India after having suffered a miserable period in Australia losing the test and tri-series have come strongly in the ICC World Cup 2015. Before the start of the world cup, India did not look a convincing side and it was sure that the champions of the previous world cup are here to give away their title. And the Indian bowling side was considered the worst.

But right from the start of the world cup, Team India has left every one awe-struck with their performances. They defeated Pakistan in their starter and further moved on to defeating mammoths South Africa and West Indies as well as minnows UAE, Zimbabwe and Ireland. Even though India’s batting side is considered the best, it is the bowling department which has impressed more. With 70 wickets in 7 matches, India holds the record of maximum wickets taken in the ICC World Cup 2015.

X-Factor: The Captain Cool

The main asset which India has is their captain MS Dhoni. Having a cool head during a match is good, but during a pressure situation is something what MS Dhoni is known for. Besides his captain duties, MS Dhoni is an excellent wicketkeeper and a world-class batsman.

Y-Factor: The Nawab of Kolkatta

Mohammed Shami or The Nawab of Kolkatta as the Indian team director Ravi Shastri calls him is one of the main reasons for India’s successful winning streak. Clocking 145kmph along with swing the ball on regular basis, Mohammed Shami has kept batsmen baffled. He even had Chris Gayle popping his eyes after an extraordinary bouncer that he bowled.

Australia:

Australia is presently the top most ranked ODI cricket team in the world. With an excellent batting and bowling order, they have everything required to be the best. Before the World Cup, they trashed India and England in the tri-series. India also suffered badly in their recent test series against Australia. In fact Australia turned out to be a night mare for India.

In the present ICC World Cup, Australia has lost only once against co-hosts New Zealand that too in an exciting thriller. Their bowling attack is pretty fast with the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc who have the capability to clock 150kmph. The batting line-up of Australia is also explosive with Warner, Watson and Maxwell in the lead.

X-Factor: The White Shark

Shane Watson is presently one of the best all-rounder’s in international arena. He can be very explosive with the bat also handy the ball. He bowls at a decent speed of 130kmph and can be a great plus point for the Aussies.

Y-Factor: The Million Dollar Baby

Yes we are talking about no one other than Glen Maxwell. He is the most dynamic all rounder and has the capabilities to turn the match in the team’s favour with the bat as well as ball. Maxwell is the first option for Captain Michael Clark if he wants to resort to spin.

With both the sides equally balanced it is difficult to predict the winner. So let’s wait patiently for Thursday to fully determine the better of the two.
