IPL 2017: Full schedule of Sunrisers Hyderabad

Defending Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad who surprised everyone by lifting the 2016 IPL Trophy will be looking forward to a 2nd consecutive title in as many years. The final is scheduled to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and it will a big opportunity for the defending champs to lift their 2nd consecutive title in front of their home crowd. The squad boasts of some serious power hitters and exceptional T20 bowlers which will be vital to Hyderabad’s chances in the upcoming edition.

They sprang in some surprises in the 2017 Auction where they bought 8 new faces including the likes of two Afghanistan players. Teenage leg-spinner Rashid Khan bagged a whopping Rs. 4 crores while Mohammad Nabi was bought at his base price of Rs. 30 lakhs. They have also roped in the services of veteran spinner Pravin Tambe and rising fast bowler Mohammed Siraj. Without a doubt, the side looks one of the serious contenders for the title.

The opening combination of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan is bound to give the opposition bowlers a headache or two. Yuvraj Singh who roared back to form in the limited overs series against England will also play an important role in the middle order. Kiwis skipper Kane Williamson will be itching to get going in the tournament and will look to carry on his rich vein of form.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mustafizur Rahman might well be the most important bowlers for Hyderabad. They bowled brilliantly in the previous IPL especially in the death overs and their performance was crucial in giving Sunrisers their maiden IPL title. The defending champs start off their campaign with consecutive home games against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions on 5th and 9th April respectively.
