Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar this morning confirmed the news that has been ringing in the minds of the Indian fans ahead of the series-decider Test at Dharamsala. It also comes as a surprise after Virat Kohli spent the last two days on the field at the end of the 3rd Test at Ranchi.

Team India has made two changes in the playing XI for the fourth Test with Kuldeep Yadav being handed over his cap on the pitch which was deemed as a fast-bowler friendly one helping seam and swing bowlers.

The biggest of all the news comes out from the field, with Bangar ruling Virat Kohli out of the all-important game that concludes India’s home season. Kohli, injured his shoulder while fielding in the third Test at Ranchi in a valiant attempt to stop the ball from the reaching the boundary ropes.

The captain, since the injury, walked out to bat with a strapped pad on his shoulder. Bangar, also confirmed that Ajinkya Rahane would lead the side in the absence of captain Kohli.

Swing bowler Bhuvaneswar Kumar was given the nod ahead of the seamer Ishant Sharma, despite the latter’s valiant attempt at Ranchi in the third Test.

It is expected that Karun Nair who has been exceptional in the No.4 slot for the Karnataka team in the domestic season with consistent scores will take the position for this game. It is a huge responsibility for the Karnataka batsman to fill the shoes of Kohli in his absence.

TOSS: Steve Smith has won the toss and elected to bat first on a deck which is a good track for the batsmen. It has a ting of grass but also looks dry. Should be good to bat on for the first couple of days. The Australian team is unchanged from the third Test at Ranchi.

Ajinkya Rahane and the Indian team have made two changes to the Playing XI with Virat Kohli out with a shoulder injury and Ishant Sharma out. Kuldeep Yadav makes his debut in the place of Virat Kohli and Bhuvaneswar Kumar replaces Ishant in the playing XI.

Playing XI:

Australia:

Matt Renshaw, David Warner, Steven Smith (C), Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Wade(w), Pat Cummins, Steve O’Keefe, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood

India:

Lokesh Rahul, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane(c), Karun Nair, Ravichandran Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha(w), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav
