Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan hosted a glamorous wedding reception at the Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara. The event took place with much glam and glitz and saw many cricketers, politicians and Bollywood celebrities in attendance.
Former cricketers VVS Laxman, Mohammad Kaif, Kiran More and some present stars like Unmukt Chand, Vinay Kumar, Parvez Rasool and Robin Uthappa, who also got recently married to Sheetal Gautam, attended the wedding reception.
The dashing all-rounder got married to a Jeddah-based model Safa Baig on February 4 last month. The story of Irfan Pathan’s wedding was an extremely well-kept secret. It has been reported that Irfan and Safa had been seeing each other for a couple of years before getting married.
The Nikaah ceremony took place in the ‘Haram Shareef’ in Mecca which was attended only by the relatives of the couple. Pathan then posted a selfie with his wife to announce his wedding to the world.
The last few months have seen a good number of Indian cricketers tie the knot. Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Rohit Sharma are among the few who have done so. Most recent ones to join the list are Dhawal Kulkarni and Mohit Sharma.
Reportedly, the Pathan family spent 2 crore rupees at the grand wedding reception which was attended by over 2000 guests.
