Well, it won’t come as a pleasant news for the Indian cricket fans as the former politician and English author Jeffrey Archer slammed the Cuttack crowd for not applauding English skipper Eoin Morgan’s century during the 2nd ODI between India and England at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.

He took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Disappointed Indians didn’t applaud Morgan’s century. I have stood & applauded at Lord’s for Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Shastri.”

Interestingly, neither Sachin Tendulkar nor VVS Laxman has ever scored a century at Lord’s. The cricket fans didn’t waste much time to hit back at the author for the displeasure.

Only these Indian cricketers have scored a ton or more at Lord’s –

Vinoo Mankad 184 in 1952, Dilip Vengsarkar 103 in 1979, GR Viswanath 113 in 1979, Vengsarkar 157 in 1982, Vengsarkar 126* in 1986, Ravi Shastri 100 in 1990, Mohammad Azharuddin 121 in 1990, Sourav Ganguly 131 in 1996, Ajit Agarkar 109* in 2002, Rahul Dravid 103* in 2011, Ajinkya Rahane 103 in 2014.

England lost the 2nd ODI by 15 runs after India posted a massive 381/6 in 50 overs. Yuvraj Singh scored a career-best 150 while MS Dhoni played a good hand of 134. For England, it was Eoin Morgan who played a captain’s knock of 102 runs from 81 balls, with 5 sixes and 6 fours. For India, Ravi Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 65 runs, whereas Jasprit Bumrah scalped 2 wickets.

Archer penned his first book, Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less, in the year 1974, as he was facing major bankruptcy issues around that time. The book was backed by the literary agent Deborah Owen and published first in the United States, then it got published in Britain in the of 1976. A BBC Television adaptation of the book was broadcasted in the year 1990, and a radio adaptation was aired on BBC Radio 4 in the early 1980s.

Kane and Abel (1979) is very popular among readers and it turned out to be his best-selling work, reaching number one on The New York Times bestsellers list.
