Mitchell Johnson’s cricketing journey in pictures: ‘I just lost that hunger’- Mitchell Johnson  said during the post-match conference at Perth.  A panther on his abdomen, and a dragon on his right arm; Johnson has spelled fire during his ten-year-old leather tour. Spotted by Dennis Lillee as a raw 17-year-old, the legendary pace bowler declared Johnson a “once in a lifetime prospect”.

He found Virat Kohli’s helmet on one occasion while he knocked captain Cook’s middle timber on the other. He carried the hopes of numerous Aussie fanatics and ended up with the urn on his way home. With 590 international wickets and 3000 plus runs under his belt, Johnson has been a tunnel of hope that strolled around the dark unknown path of fast bowling.

Some of the finest batsmen tottered to become his bunny while every touring team was aware of the persistent threat. Spotted by Dennis Lillee as a raw 17-year-old, the legendary pace bowler declared Johnson a “once in a lifetime prospect”. He suffered a string of back stress fractures early in his cricketing career and drove a van for a living at one stage after losing his contract with Queensland club. Let’s have a look at the eventful journey in pictures.
