As the teams have reached the half-stage of the tournament, the 4 teams to participate in the semi-finals of the World T20 are still undecided. While New Zealand is quite poised in Group 2 of the Super 10, Group 1 looks even more competitive, with all the four Test playing nations having a chance at sealing the final four spot.

Aakash Chopra, former Indian batsman and commentator part of the Star Group, is quite active in Facebook, with behind the scene clips featuring his fellow commentators. And in his recent post, he enquired two of his fellow pals about their picks for the World T20.

First to answer was former Indian batsman and Hindi Commentator, Mohammad Kaif. Kaif, despite his relatively shorter international career, had his moments at the top, with the epic 2002 Natwest final knock being his pinnacle. Mohammad Kaif’s picks for the semi-finals were the teams which are touted to make it to the semi-finals for their form and temperament in the shortest format. While Kaif picked up New Zealand and India from Group No 2, his picks for Group No 1 included South Africa and West Indies (which he was quite about).

The second person to answer the question was Shoaib Akhtar. Despite Pakistan’s roller-coaster form in the tournament, he believes that it will definitely make it to the semi-finals. He surprisingly picks India ahead of New Zealand, despite the latter winning two out of two till now. He later cheekily replies that he has faith in Pakistan’s ability to pull it off. His other two picks include West Indies, and surprisingly, England ahead of South Africa.
