Pakistan’s journey so far and here on in the World Cup 2015: Pakistan have won two back to back games against minnows, after losing badly against test playing teams India and West Indies. Pakistan did not start the world cup on a good note. Pakistani players were confident enough to beat India as Afridi told in pre match press conference that this time they will change history. Team selector Moin Khan was also confident that they will change history. Yeah, Pakistan changed history, from 5-0 to 6-0.

After losing the much talked, sold out match battle against India at Adelaide Oval, the team moved to Hagley Oval to play against the West Indies. Pakistan lost the match by 150 runs as there batting failed miserably, at one stage Pakistan’s score was 1-4, yeah you read that right, and it looks more like a football score. Pakistan could not have thought of a worst possible start to world cup than this. For Pakistani fans, who were thinking that their national team will bring it back after 23 years, were in a state of shock as they never thought that their team would start like this in the mega event.

Pakistan after losing against India and West Indies flew to Brisbane to play at the Gabba. The Green brigade finally won the match against Zimbabwe by 20 runs, a match which went down to the wire and lack of experience went against and in favor of Pakistan.

This match again showed the failure of their batsmen in this tournament but thanks to their skipper Misbah and Wahab Riaz, as their heroic innings, it saved them from sure shot elimination from the world cup 2015.

Today, Pakistan played against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They won this match by 129 runs. Batting first, Pakistan scored 339 runs, as they finally crossed the 300 runs barrier in this world cup and also three Pakistani players scored half centuries, something to cherish for the fans. As you don’t see this often that three Pakistani players completes half century and whole team crosses 300.

Pakistan has two matches left now, one against the mighty Proteas and another against their nightmare Ireland. If Pakistan somehow manages to beat Ireland at Adelaide Oval on 15th of March in the final match (considering it too much for them to overpower South Africa) of the League Round then they will be through to knockouts.
