The No.1 Test bowler in the world Ravindra Jadeja was involved in an on-field banter with Aussie wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade when the former was batting during India’s 1st innings at Dharamsala. There were seen having a conversation where Wade was apparently sledging him with a war of words. Apparently, Jadeja went to the square leg umpire and complained about the same after which the umpire intervened and asked Wade to stop.

There was another conversation between the duo when Wade asked Jadeja about the meaning of an Indian cuss word. He constantly kept asking him the meaning of the word but Jadeja didn’t respond and asked him to enquire about the same from someone else. The wicket-keeper kept on chirping and told Jadeja that he can upload a selfie on Instagram while wielding the sword. There was a time when the onfield umpire Marais Erasmus even asked him “Wade will you stop or not.”

Jadeja was asked during the press conference that what was the chat all about with Matthew Wade when the former was batting. Jadeja played it down in the funniest of manners and said, “Bas Yehi Bat Kar rehte ki jab free honge match k bad aur aap log har jayenge to ek sath dinner karenge (I told Wade lets have dinner together after you lose the Test)

The all-rounder was the standout performer for India in the final Test at Dharamsala where he provided the home team with the much-needed balance and stability with his all-round performance. While the spinner bagged a solitary wicket in the 1st innings, the tweaker came back strongly and finished with impressive figures of 3/24 in the 2nd innings.

Jadeja also played a match-defining innings with the bat when the chips were down for the home team. Along with wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha, the duo shared a fantastic partnership which bailed the hosts out of the precarious situation. The southpaw smashed his way to a breathtaking 63 which included some lusty blows of the spinners and fast bowler Pat Cummins. But just when he looked set for his maiden Test century, the southpaw gave away his wicket to Cummins in an unlucky manner.

The star all-rounder has been the X Factor for India in the long home season and has bagged 71 wickets in 13 matches at a staggering average of 22. He also chipped in with some crucial innings lower down the order which provided the home team with the stability. Two of his best Test innings of the season came when the chips were down for India so it will a great sign for India going into the future overseas tours.
