The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed teams battling it out on the field and drama taking place off it. Recently, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen hugging Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant after his team's 19-run victory over LSG.

Goenka and KL Rahul, the captain of LSG, were earlier spotted in an animated discussion after LSG's resounding defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), which sparked speculation about the team's internal dynamics.

The recent incident occurred after DC clinched a comprehensive 19-run victory over LSG in New Delhi. Capitals posted a total of 208/4, thanks to significant contributions from Abhishek Porel (58), Shai Hope (38), Rishabh Pant (33), and Tristan Stubbs (57*).

In response, visitors faltered in their chase, despite Nicholas Pooran's blistering 61 off 27 balls and Arshad Khan's 58* off 33 deliveries.

LSG is virtually out of the IPL 2024

As the players made their way off the field, cameras captured Goenka warmly hugging Pant. However, Goenka's gesture towards Pant seemed to be an acknowledgment of the young cricketer's talent and sportsmanship, putting to rest any doubts about his relationship with players from other teams.

Interestingly, Goenka was also seen engaging in a conversation with Rahul after the match. While the content of their discussion remains unknown, the fact that they were chatting in a seemingly cordial manner suggests that the air may have been cleared between the two after their previous public altercation.

While DC's chances of qualifying for the playoffs are very slim and need to depend on their opposition's results, on the other hand, LSG, spoiled chances for themselves with a defeat against DC and are virtually out of the tournament.
