Candice Warner, the wife of Australian opener David Warner, lambasted the Indians’ for not applauding Steve Smith’s innings in the ongoing Ranchi Test. The controversy that surrounded the second Test at Bengaluru was the DRS controversy that transpired during the second Test on the fourth day of the match when Australian captain Steve Smith was caught asking the help of the dressing room before asking for a review.
Team India’s captain Virat Kohli intervened and accused the whole Australian team of repeating the same mistake more than once. Kohli was almost on the verge of calling his counterpart a “cheat”. Smith, accepted the mistake calling it as a moment of “brain-fade”.
The controversy was carried out into the pre-match conference when Kohli was questioned on Smith’s response to the allegation, while the Indian skipper still stood by his claims despite the International Cricket Council (ICC) giving the Aussie captain a clean chit.
Smith, tried to make his bat do the talking as he lifted Australia from a mini-crisis to a mammoth score in the first innings in the absence of the opposite skipper Kohli. His magnificent unbeaten century put his team in a commanding position after the first innings in the Ranchi Test.
The 27-year-old Australian has received praises from all corners of the globe with the commentary team branding his century as a “match-defining one”. However, Candice was angry on the Indian team for not applauding Steve Smith for his brilliant knock.
It all started when she was asked on Twitter whether the Indian team was wrong for not praising Smith. Candice replied with a controversial tweet saying “Absolutely!! Obviously, sportsmanship isn’t high on their values and means nothing to them.”

@CandyFalzon Need not to ask for appreciation from Indians. We know to respect performances. Maybe you are going through wrong newspapers

@CandyFalzon I'm not sure it's so black n white. Find some middle ground here. At least 5 Indians congratulated him at end of play.
