England won the toss and decided to bat first against Pakistan in the first T20I. The start wasn’t like what England had expected when they were 19/3. The debutant James Vince and Eoin Morgan then partnered to drive England out of danger. They added 76 for the 4th wicket until Wahab Riaz removed James Vince. Sam Billings then joined in to score 53 off just 27 balls. England posted a decent 160/5 for Pakistan to win.

Pakistan had another disastrous start for this game. They were reduced to 25/3 in the 6th over and eventually 75/7 courtesy some great bowling by Stephen Parry, Reece Topley and Liam Plunkett. Anwar Ali and Sohail Tanvir followed by Wahab Riaz tried to salvage some pride from down the order but the target was too stiff for them to make it home for Pakistan. England, in the end, won by 14 runs and leads the 3-match series 1-0. Sam Billings was named the Man of the Match.
