The Smashers’ vs The Hard Workers: RR v RCB Eliminator: Amidst all the drama and action in this IPL season, as the game is about to reach its fold, the beginning of this end was quite eventful. The team at the bottom of the points table in early stages of this league became the first one to register its name as the finalist, yes, we are talking about Mumbai Indians who defeated the top team CSK in yesterday’s match with a fair margin of 25 runs, making today’s match even more thrilling as the uncertainty of this league has reached another level. Third down the list RCB vs number four RR, the smashers against the hard workers as I call them.

With three highest run scorers in the list of top 10, which includes our very own RCB captain Kohli at number 3, Mr. 360 degrees AB at number 5 and the entertainer Gayle at number nine this team has one of the strongest batting line up with hitters who if we quote ‘Pepsi’ can “Change The Game”. Not lagging behind are the bowlers Yuzvendra Chahal third in the list with 19 wickets and Mitchell Starc the Australian pace pack leader at number five with 18 wickets in his stats. Royal Challengers emerging as the winners of IPL 8 won’t be a shocker. The team has high spirits, players in the best of their forms, highest individual run scorers, fastest fifties, amazing strike rates, and a box of entertainers, this is IPL and every aspect counts.

But we should never underestimate the power of a hard working team, as they have the ability to turn the tables, besides the uncertainty of IPL and T20 format is well known by each of us. The Rajasthan Royals, winners of IPL season one, have a well balanced team, with reasonable planning, trusted players to hold on to the wickets, fair economy rates has a very positive chance of going ahead into the game to face Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier 2.

Ajinkya Rahane the gem of the team, the man you can trust to hit as well as stay there on the crease to put pressure on the opposition, the second highest run scorer in this IPL season as of now, is the man who will be counted on to the most. The openers Rahane and Watson has put up some great, in fact the best partnership throughout this season. These two have made the bowlers sweat for their first wickets with 80+ runs partnership in 3 matches, a pair to watch out for.  The bowling attack of this team has been a weak point though Watson, Faulkner and Morris are a few names the team can count on. Rajasthan Royals are a young side with more of emerging players whereas Royal Challengers are an experienced one. This match will be the one to look up for.

Counting hours and minutes with a hope of another electrifying clash, the last ball chase, dances and celebration, keeping our fingers crossed, praying for our teams, we are just a few hours away from the live action of Qualifier 2. All the adrenaline rushing in, let’s wait, watch and enjoy the result for this war between the smasher and the hard workers. It will be treat for all the fans, who are looking forward to see whether the high spirited RCB with so much of expectations will reach to the next stage and maybe eventually win this IPL or the dedication of the RR will over shadow their fame.
