They say there are no marks for beating the batsmen; it’s all about taking wickets. We saw the Top 5 batsmen in IPL now we see the other side of coin, The Top 5 bowlers. Where Indian batsmen are expected to out power Indian bowlers, we saw only 2 Indians in Top 5 batsmen and in bowling list we have 4 of 5. Here we go.

1.Mohit Sharma (23 wickets):

Mohit Sharma made his name by emerging as one of the leading wicket takers in Ranji season of 2012-13. This earned him a contract with CSK for last year IPL season and Mohit picked up 20 wickets in the last season. Mohit’s honeymoon with IPL continued this season as he picked up 23 wickets from 16 games and became Purple Cap winner. Mohit has a well-disguised slower one which was not picked up many batsmen. Although his economy rate was 8.39 in this season but his wicket taking ability makes him a quality T20 bowler.

2.Sunil Narine (21 wickets):

When you talk about T20 bowlers, you talk about Sunil Narine. He is still a mystery to many batsmen in the world. He was the leader of KKR bowling attack and played the role to the perfection. Not only he picked up wickets whenever his team needed, but he bowled a lot in death overs and controlled the flow of runs. He finished with top class economy of 6.35 runs per over. 3.Bhuvneshwar Kumar (20 wickets):

Irrespective of where he finished in the list, he was undoubtedly the best bowler in this IPL. With Bhuvneshwar it was certain that he will start well with the new ball, the challenge in front of him was death bowling as that’s the area where even the best of Indian Medium pacers are found wanting. His length in death overs was spot on and did not give any easy runs. It was said before the IPL that Bhuvneshwar will be playing under the shadows of World’s best bowler Dale Steyn but he over showed his partner and was the best bowler in the tournament. Bhuvi has improved a lot in past few months and will be handling a big responsibility of leading India’s bowling attack in England in the absence of Zaheer Khan.

4.Ravindra Jadeja (19 wickets):

He started his career as a batting all-rounder but now his role in any team is of bowling all-rounder. He plays IPL under his Indian team captain who knows how to use his strengths to the maximum. Being a left armer he adds variety to the bowling attack. He picked up two 4 wickets haul in the season highest amongst the topper.

5.Sandeep Sharma (18 wickets):

21-year-old Sandeep Sharma is also an under 19 star of India. He was the leading wicket taker in 2012 under 19 World Cup. He is not express fast but has the ability of swinging the ball both ways. He took only 11 games to take 18 wickets with an amazing strike rate of 13.38. He still needs to learn how to keep batsmen under check when there is no swing on offer especially in death overs. It’s was surprising decision from Kings XI not to play him in finals but this guy definitely has it in him to represent India One day.
