Trevor Bayliss, our Australian coach, may have had an impact on England’s side: Mark Waugh: After the loss of the 2nd Test of the Ashes series at Lord’s with a huge margin of 405, it seemed that the visitors could easily win the other matches. The performance by England in the 3rd Test came up as a surprise for rather everyone, after the manner in which they lost the 2nd Test by a huge margin of 405 runs.

The English side got everything right in the break they had and managed to stump Australia, and take a 2-1 lead in the series with a 8-wicket win. Mark Waugh the former Australian Captain and present National Selector of ECB had a lot to say about the sudden turn around, he was quotd by cricket.com.au saying, “I thought once we won at Lord’s we would push on and win the series quite comfortably.” The surprised veteran said, “absolute hiding we gave them at Lord’s” this was an un expected response.

“But England, you’ve got to give credit to them, they’ve bounced back really well in this Test. I think Trevor Bayliss, our Australian coach, may have had an impact on the side there. (Bayliss played his part in) may be with their thought processes and the way they’ve played the game. We’ve been a little bit off with our bowling, but mainly our batting hasn’t coped with the swing bowling, Every player has got to think about their own game and how they can improve.”

After two Tests on flat, lifeless pitches widely seen as designed to nullify the effect of Australia’s pace battery, Edgbaston has delivered a more typical England seamer that has found Australia wanting, every batsman has got to look at how they were dismissed and just think about it for the rest of the series” expressing his concern Mark Waugh added.

Though he has not yet lost hope and believes the competition to be close enough for the series win.  He also said,”This game is still not over and then there’s two more Tests. It’s going to be tight, it’s a very even series. We’ve got the strike power with the ball and the class with the bat; we’ve got to still think we can win this series.”
