Team India bagged the honours on the day one of the first Test against Australia at Pune. There were many moments of glory to cheer about for the hosts. The one that stands out among the rest was wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha taking a sensational catch to send Steve O’Keefe packing. Towards the fag end of the day, the sun was beating down hard and pitch had become a dry surface to bat on. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli was smart enough to hand over the ball to his premier pacer, Umesh Yadav.
In the recent times, Umesh Yadav has turned out to be one of India’s strike bowlers. Time and again during this home season, the Vidarbha pacer has shown that he can run in fast and bowl at express speeds consistently. In the 82nd over, he did exactly that. He was rightly rewarded with his third scalp of the day. However, the wicket can rightly be accredited to the account of Wriddhiman Saha, if that could be possible. Without a sensational effort from Saha, it was impossible to bag that wicket.
The action perspired on the 4th ball of the 82nd over. Umesh Yadav bowled it short and wide and Steven O’Keefe tried to cut the ball hard but just managed an outside edge. The ball was flying, would have easily flown between the keeper and the slip but Saha put in a brilliant effort – superlative easily the best catch we have seen in the season. He dived to his right and stretched his strong arm well beyond imaginable reach and pouched the ball. At one point Saha was parallel to the ground and almost defied gravity.
Skipper Virat standing next to him in the slip cordon was surprised as well and when he hugged and patted him on the back and appreciated the effort. The Twitter world went absolutely berserk over the catch. Some of the best tweets rightly called him Superman Saha and there were others who opined that the sequel of movie Flying Jatt could well be renamed to Flying Saha.

Right, here is a great example of a top keeper, Saha, converting a bowler's (Yadav's) skill into a wicket.
