Jason Roy smashed records yet again with a magnificently compiled 162 off just 118 deliveries. While Roy was on his way decimating a feeble looking Sri Lankan bowling attack, twitter erupted with a plethora of tweets concerning the latter’s magnificent knock. The knock proved to be supremely special for Jason Roy as the latter went on to amass the innings at The Oval, his home ground.
England completed a massive victory over Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI of the ENG v SL ODI series, thereby taking a 2-0 lead over their opponents in the ongoing series. Batting first in terrible weather conditions in London, Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka took the attack to the opposition with a wonderfully compiled century-stand.
Their amazing performance was consummated by the senior members Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews, who smashed valiant half-centuries in quick time.
A back injury to Alex Hales saw Moeen Ali take the reins of opening the batting. However, Ali didn’t have much to do as the England innings can quite effectively be summed up as the Jason Roy show. The latter began to cut, pull, blast, smash, and hoick the ball to different parts of the Oval as he went on to completely decimate the Lankan bowlers.
