Twitter Reactions: Advantage India at the end of day 1

An action-packed first day of the 1st Test match at Pune’s MCA stadium witnessed a flurry of wickets and two gutsy fifties among all the happenings. Indian pacer Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/32 from his 12 overs while Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja shared four wickets between them.
For the visitors, it was Matt Renshaw who capitalized on the start with a gritty 68, whereas most of his team-mates failed to trouble the scorers. David Warner failed to convert a start after getting a life, as he was bowled by Jayant Yadav on a no-ball and skipper Steve Smith too couldn’t make a strong case.
The visitors finished the day on 256/9 after Mitchell Starc managed to save the grace with a fighting unbeaten 57, and well supported by Josh Hazlewood, who faced 31 balls and remained not out at stumps.
Twitterati was all praise for Mitchell Starc, who in fact has a better average than all-rounder Mitch Marsh. Marsh bats ahead of wicket-keeper Matthew Wade and that didn’t please most of the fans. Marsh was dismissed for just four by Jadeja. Renshaw went back to the pavilion with a stomach upset just after his opening partner Warner was dismissed. It was found out that Renshaw had a stomach upset and that saw quite a lot of funny tweets.
Also Watch: Wriddhiman Saha pulls off the catch of the season
Wriddhiman Saha took a brilliant catch behind the stumps and received lots of praise from fans, in fact, he was trending in the micro-blogging site for his spectacular effort. Kohli and his men will be pretty happy with the way things have gone after Australia won the toss and elected to field. The duo of Starc and Hazlewood will start continue there fight on the second day, they are currently involved in a 51-run partnership.
Let’s have a look at some of the most interesting tweets from the Day 1 of the 1st Test match:
