Twitter Reactions: Harbhajan Singh ties knots with Geeta Basra: The senior off-spinner of team India, Harbhajan Singh and Bollywood actress, Geeta Basra finally became husband and wife. After a five-year-long courtship, the couple tied knots on Thursday, October 29. The couple got married in a Gurdwara in Jalandhar, Harbhajan’ hometown.

While the groom looked dapper in an off-white sherwani and red turban, the bride was looking resplendent in a traditional red and gold lehenga. Geeta Basra’s traditional lehenga was designed by celebrity designer Archana Kochhar. The wedding was attended by high profile cricketers, like Sachin like Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh. Earlier, a mehndi and sangeet ceremony was held at Harbhajan’s family home.

The high-profile reception is scheduled for November 1 in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reportedly expected to arrive. Harbhajan, 35, and Geeta, who has acted in several Bollywood and Punjabi films, dated for five years before they got married. Though Bhajji never accepted the relationship in public, there is hardly anything to hide now.

Geeta was seen at many of Mumbai Indians’ home matches in the IPL, and the pair were often seen retweeting each other’s posts on social networking site Twitter. They were often seen together in public, causing Shah Rukh Khan to crack a joke on Bhajji at an awards show “Twadda ghar kab BASRA hai”..?
