Twitter reactions: Indians troll Pakistan for banning MS Dhoni: The Untold Story

Cricket fans in Pakistan won’t be able to enjoy MS Dhoni’s upcoming biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story which releases tomorrow as the film distributors in Pakistan have decided not to screen the movie in the country.

The officials took the decision as an aftermath to the Maharastra Navnirman Sena’s open ultimatum to Pakistani actors to leave the country.

A local newspaper reported that IMGC Global Entertainment, a Pakistan-based distribution company which was going to release the movie has decided against it. The chairman of the firm was quoted saying, “Amid current tension between the two countries, we have decided not to release the film.”

A source from the exhibition industry in Pakistan was quoted by a few news websites saying, “The film does not feature in the programming list since no distributor wants to bring it here.”

Let’s not forget that Pakistan film industry revenues are largely dependent on Bollywood movies. Banning them will certainly make lose a great amount of money. In fact, Bollywood also enjoys a great following there and therefore, it is understood that the Indian industry will also suffer a considerable amount of loss.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, is set to release this weekend on 30th September. The movie is set to be released in over 4000 screens all over India.

The producers of the biopic claimed that the movie will have one of the widest of the release in 4,500 screens across 60 countries.
