There have been days in cricket where India have completely outplayed the opposition. Today was one such day. Day 4 of the third Test saw one of the most sensational partnership ever between Cheteshwar Pujara and Wriddhiman Saha that drained the Australian fielders.

India resumed from their overnight score of 360/6. Both Pujara and Saha continued from where they left. Such was their domination at the crease that Aussie captain Steve Smith ran out of ideas to contain them. India didn’t lose a single wicket in the first two sessions.

The desperation in the Australian camp could be witnessed. Steve O’Keefe bowled for 77 overs while the other bowlers also got around 40 overs to show their prowess with the ball. But nothing affected the pair.

Cheteshwar Pujara went on to score his third double century in Tests, his second against Australia. He also went on to play 525 balls, the most balls ever faced in a knock by an Indian, a record previously held by none other than ‘the Wall’ Rahul Dravid.

Wriddhiman Saha who has time and again been criticised also showed phenomenal character with the bat. He went on to score his third test century and provided ample support to Pujara from the other end. Both combined for a 199 run partnership for the seventh wicket.

However, the action didn’t get over even after both got out. Ravindra Jadeja gave a glimpse of his pinch hitting skills to the Ranchi crowd. He went on to score a quickfire fifty which was followed by the compulsory sword dance. India declared soon at 603/9 with a lead of 152 runs.

With Australia having 8 overs to bat, David Warner and Matt Renshaw walked in to bat out till stumps. But then, Ravindra Jadeja had other plans. He completely outfoxed David Warner and then bowled a gem to get nightwatchman Nathan Lyon as well. Australia ended the day at 23/2 at stumps as they still trail by 129 runs.

Here are some of the amazing Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game.
