Every year, the IPL Auctions spring up a plenty of surprises. We have had franchises like Delhi Daredevils shell out 8.5 crs for the likes of Pawan Negi. There have been countless other occasions where we’ve seen these instances.

England’s specialist T20 bowler Tymal Mills who bowled brilliantly in the recently concluded India-England series was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping amount of 12 crores. While it was expected from him to grab a good purse after some sensational performances in the T20I series, no one expected him to go this big.

Tymal Mills had set up his base price at 50 lakhs and ended up bagging 24 times the amount. Franchisees like Mumbai Indians and Sun Risers Hyderabad also showed interest before they gave it up.

RCB, on the other hand, had just ended their association with Mitchell Starc and their pace attack seemed clawless without him. The spearhead even remained unavailable for the auction surprising many with his decision. With the inclusion of Mills into the mix, RCB now look formidable bowling lineup.

Tymal Mills has proved to be quite efficient at the death and Captain Virat Kohli would surely be pleased to have him in the ranks. A good fix for their bowling woes in the previous seasons, RCB would be counting on him to deliver with some stupendous bowling.

Twitter went all bonkers as Mills was sought after by so many teams. While many expressed shock, others thought it was a good decision by Royal Challengers Bangalore as they needed some oil in the pace attack. This would be his first season and it would be an exciting prospect to watch him bowl in the RCB colours.

Here are some of the amazing Twitter reactions that took place:
