Harbhajan Singh who was among the former Indian cricketers and experts who had written off the Australian team led by Steve Smith and though they will not be able to have any kind of impact in the series would have to take them back as they completely dominated the first match and defeated Team India inside 3 days by a humongous margin of 333 runs.
Soon after the end of the match, Bhajji tweeted praising the effort of the Australian team. The off-spinner felt the Australian team played unbelievably on the wicket and also suggested better pitched should be rolled out going ahead in the series. He wrote- “Credit to @CricketAus 4 playing unbelievable well on tht wicket.let’s hope we play on good tracks frm here onwards nd get th right results”

Earlier Harbhajan in an interview with PTI had said, “I have played against some of the best Australian sides. In my opinion, looking at the composition, this is the weakest Australian side to tour India. I don’t think this team has the wherewithal to cope with a quality Indian side in the Indian conditions. It can again be 4-0 like 2013 season,”
Australian captain Steve Smith, when asked for his response in the pre-match press meet, said, “Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, I don’t believe that’s the case. I’m confident in the squad we’ve got here to compete against India,”

“You hear comments like Harbhajan who expect us to lose 4-0. That’s not how we feel. Yes, I guess we are the underdogs in this series. You hear comments like Harbhajan who expect us to lose 4-0. That’s not how we feel. We want to compete here against India. It’s going to be a tough series, they’ve got some quality players in their line-up. So yes, it’s going to be difficult.” Smith had said.
Those who weren’t impressed with Harbhajan’s comments earlier had a go at him after the game:
@harbhajan_singh @CricketAus but do you still believe this is the worst australia team ever? or that was just misquoted?
