The Test series between India and Australia has produced cricket of the highest standards. It has been a closely fought contest with the two sides levelled one apiece after three Tests and battling it out in the fourth and the final Test at Dharamsala.

But apart from cricket, it has been full of controversies. First, it was the DRS incident involving Steven Smith when he looked back to the pavilion for advice after being given out LBW in the second Test at Bangalore. It didn’t go well with the cricketing fraternity and he received plenty of criticism. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli even compared that to cheating.

It hadn’t even settled and a new one arrived when the Australian fielder Glenn Maxwell was seen mocking Kohli’s shoulder injury in the third Test at Ranchi. Kohli being a highly aggressive player, returned back the favour by signalling the same when an Australian batsman was dismissed.

The latest incident happened on the second day at Dharamsala during India’s batting. Murali Vijay nicked one to the wicket-keeper off the bowling of Josh Hazlewood and without even waiting for umpire’s decision, decided to walk off.

But Hazlewood who had been trying hard all morning was charged up and was seen celebrating over the top and chirped Vijay on his way back to the pavilion. Vijay was annoyed with the verbal abuses and turned midway to show his dissent. He didn’t react a lot and kept striding back in the hut.

Both teams are trying very hard to win the series as just the last game is in progress. Hazlewood’s reaction was just an example of that. Vijay had been leaving the ball very well outside the off stump and the bowler kept nagging away with that line. And when the batsman finally decided to poke at one, the Hazlewood was all pumped up and gave the batsman a send-off.
