Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is on a roll. It will not be wrong to say that the Tamil Nadu lad is in the prime of his career. He is picking up wickets at will and is one of the finest prospects of spin bowling in the world. No wonder why he is the number one ranked bowler in the ICC Test rankings. Ashwin continued his merry run in the 4th Test against England as well.

Ashwin was yet again the most successful Indian bowler as the visitors finished Day 1 of the 4th test in Mumbai at 288/5. The wickets that he bagged were surely the highlights of the day for the fans. Such beautifully was he bowling that the ball spun viciously on almost all occasions. He set up dismissals of centurion Keaton Jennings and Joe Root with ease. The way he worked up the plan in his mind was great.

The drift and carry that the off-spinner was yielding from the wicket was commendable. One such prime example of this drift and carry was seen when Ben Stokes was at the crease. Bowling in the 83rd over, Ashwin bowled a classical off spinner delivery to the left-handed batsman. The ball spun a great deal and kept going away and away from the batsman Stokes.

Wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel outstretched his hands in an attempt to gather the ball. But the ball kept turning away. It eventually ended in the hands of the slip fielder. It was skipper Virat Kohli who collected the ball standing the slip position. The kind of turn the wicket is showing at the moment is a good indication of the things that might perspire in the days to come in the crucial encounter.

India lead the series 2-0. A win for the hosts will see them seal the series while the English team will hope to keep their chances alive with a win in the series.
