You can never take your eyes away when Sir. Jadeja is bowling and it was yet again evident on the opening day of the first test between India and Australia. The Aussies were comfortably placed at 144/2 at the end of 57 overs when Jadeja unleashed one of his mystery deliveries. The ball apparently slipped out from Jadeja’s hand and reached batsman Peter Handscomb after bouncing a couple of times.

The batsman went after the delivery and it didn’t miss the outside edge by much. Laxman Shivaramakrishnan and Ravi Shastri who was present at the commentary box during that time had a laugh about the incident so as the Indian players present in the field.

It was an exceptional display of batsmanship by the top order batsmen of Australia despite the Pune pitch offering a lot of assistance to the spinners. They applied themselves pretty well and made their way to 149/2 before the spinners came rattled the middle order with three quick wickets. While Peter Handscomb and Mitchell Marsh was dismissed by straighter deliveries from Ravindra Jadeja which skidded along the surface after pitching.

The No.1 all-rounder in the world Ravichandran Ashwin got the most prized of the rival captain Steven Smith luring him into an expansive shot. He stepped out and hit it straight to Virat Kohli who stationed himself at the silly mid on region.
