The rise of the Bangladesh Cricket Team has been phenomenal. From being considered minnows to becoming a force to reckon with, they’ve come quite far in the international arena.  A day after one of their finest performances in limited overs cricket, to get the better off home side Sri Lanka by 90 runs.

The Bangladesh team were rejoicing at Sri Lanka’s Aliya Resort and Spa, reported The Daily Star. Bangladesh registered their fifth win over Sri Lanka by winning the first ODI.

The Sri Lanka team bus was seen leaving for the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium for what can be demanding practice session for a losing side. Often, it would be the Bangladesh team to board buses to the ground a day after losing an away match.

But this time around, the hosts will have to do the skill-searching after a regrettable display in the first ODI. Bangladesh, meanwhile, were seen enjoying a rest day in the resort which overlooked the peaks of Pidurangala and Sigiriya Lion Rock, reported The Daily Star.

The players were thoroughly enjoying in their zone. While Shakib Al Hasan was enjoying a fancy lunch, Tamim Iqbal was seen roaming around on a bicycle and then going to a teammate’s rooms.

But the man the media was wanting to speak to was debutant Mehedi Hasan Miraz, who obliged and came out for a quick chat with the media personnel.

“We all felt good after winning, but what can I say about celebrating,” Miraz said when asked how they celebrated their win. “The game is not over yet. There has only been one match, and if we become satisfied after that then we cannot go forward. We will celebrate only when we win the series.”

This time around, the team wants to avoid any premature celebrations it seems.
