IPL received a huge boost after the Indian government gave a go-ahead for organizing the 2020 season in UAE from 19th September. The big-ticket league is expected to be a showcase event with Indian cricket resuming after a gap of 6 months. IPL has been one of the most prominent leagues in the world for a long time now. The news of league finally happening brought a huge sigh of relief for all cricket fans.

Since the league is set to be happening outside India, few norms have been kept by BCCI, to which the franchises have agreed. The squad strength of all the teams will be no more than 24. The teams have put out their complete squad with each team looking solid on paper.

This year teams will be playing along with the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Players will be going through rigorous testing during the league and they will have to cope with strict protocols for the whole tournament. Three cities are entitled to host the tournament in UAE which are Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. The final of the IPL will take place on 10th November.

The cash-rich league has been one of the uncalled festive seasons for fans since its inception in 2008. The tournament has been gaining immense popularity year after year. Though the league went in the bad frame after charges of fixing loomed the cricket extravaganza in 2015. CSK and RR were suspended then after serious charges of bookie links surfaced on some officials and owners of both the franchises.
