Mohammad Kaif gained entry into the Indian squad after he captained India to U-19 WC victory in 2000. He was part of the 2003 WC runners-up squad. Kaif’s famous 87 not out at the 2002 Natwest series final is still clearly etched in the hearts of Indian cricket fans. He is also an outstanding fielder. But he was dropped after 2006 and it eventually proved to be the end of his career.

Hemang Badani has featured in 4 Tests and 40 ODIs for India and has 94 and 867 runs respectively; he last played for India in 2004.

He was selected for the Indian test team and he performed unbelievably initially with two double hundreds. Barring an aversion for short-pitched balls, his technique was pretty good. But due to his loss of form, he didn’t play another match for India after 2000.

Rohan Gavaskar better known to be Jr. Gavaskar had a really good chance of making an identity of his own, not many get to an opportunity to play for India, without actually burning in the furnace. Once called as the next Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay was a man whose batting possessed technical precision. But he was one of those rare exceptions who had the talent but never really performed. He even once said, “I am not as talented as most people think”. Manjrekar is a popular commentator today, who always has some insight to share with the viewers.

Joginder Sharma was the hero for India in the 2007 T20 WC after he dismissed the ominous Misbah ul Haq in the final over. He was selected for the CSK team in the IPL but has been ignored ever since. A slow medium bowler Joginder was never an exceptional talent but his consistency and of course some luck took him to the highs of being a part of the world cup winning squad.

Rohan Gavaskar better known to be Jr. Gavaskar had a really good chance of making an identity of his own, not many get to an opportunity to play for India, without actually burning in the furnace. He featured in 11 ODIs for but could only score 151 runs, his last game in the Indian jersey dates back to 2004, since then tried his luck at the curtailed Indian Cricket League apart from being a non-regular commentator.
