Stewie Dempster made the first hundred for New Zealand in the second match of the series with 136 runs. His opening partner Jackie Mills reached his hundred in the same innings a little after Dempster, together they scored 276 runs.

Nanik Amarnath Bharadwaj better known as Lala Amarnath scored the first ever century for India against visiting England team in 1933 in Bombay Gymkhana ground. He scored a total of 119 runs in what was his debut match for India. India did lose the match by 9 wickets though.

This was done by Fazal Mahmood who took 12 wickets in the match and by Nazar Mohammad, who made an unbeaten 124 runs in the only Pakistan innings. Resilient Sri Lankan opener, Sidath Wettimuny scored what was the first century from the Sri Lankan team in test cricket. It was their 3rd test match ever against Pakistan and Sri Lanka scored 454 and Wettimuny scored 157 of those runs. The match ended in a draw after Pakistan managed to play out the 5th day chasing 339 runs for the win.

Zimbabwe played their very first test against India in 1992 at Harare ground. Veteran keeper and Captain Dave Houghton became only the second man after Charles Bannerman to score a debut century in their country’s first test. <p>Resilient Sri Lankan opener, Sidath Wettimuny scored what was the first century from the Sri Lankan team in test cricket. It was their 3rd test match ever against Pakistan and Sri Lanka scored 454 and Wettimuny scored 157 of those runs. The match ended in a draw after Pakistan managed to play out the 5th day chasing 339 runs for the win.</p>

<p>Zimbabwe played their very first test against India in 1992 at Harare ground. Veteran keeper and Captain Dave Houghton became only the second man after Charles Bannerman to score a debut century in their country’s first test. Houghton scored an impressive 121 runs which helped Zimbabwe scored 456 in their first innings. His innings helped Zimbabwe to draw the test and become the first team not to lose their first match since Australia in 1877, the very first test.</p>
