Flamboyant Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has a habit of making it to the headlines. However, on most occasions, he is in the news for the wrong reasons. His outspoken nature has often been causing problems for him. Shehzad is the out of favor national batsman and is now keen on making the news for his actions on the field rather than his off-filed antics. At a recent media interaction, the stylish batsman spoke at how he wishes to stage a comeback to the side.

As reported in the geo.tv, Ahmed Shehzad was seen bringing his team mates to the media conference. His teammates from HBL joined him for the conference. Shehzad’s intentions behind this was to make a revolutionary change in the relationships between the captain and the team players. He cited that it is utmost important to be friendly with the team players as the captain of the side. Ahmed Shehzad, who is usually known for praising oneself, was seen requesting the media to ask questions about the performance of his team mates.

“As a youngster, I always felt that a captain should be the one who is friendly with everyone, there shouldn’t be a communication gap between a captain and a team player,” he quoted.

“My utmost wish is to make players comfortable in a dressing room, I don’t want these players to feel the feeling what I felt when I started playing domestic cricket,” he added further.

His teammates were also in all praise for Shehzad. The reflected at how Shehzad’s friendly attitude has helped them get comfortable in the dressing room.

“I have never seen such wonderful environment in domestic cricket before. In previous departments, I felt the communication gap between players and captain or management, this is not the case here, and that’s why HBL has been able to perform well,” quoted Usman Shinwari, a team mate of Ahmed Shehzad.

Batsman Rameez Aziz also affirmed the same when he quoted, “We go out together, we crack jokes, we enjoy our time together, which is a good sign for keeping team environment.”

Talking further on his own time being the national discard, Shehzad said he does not wish to think about the past. His focus is entirely on the times that lie ahead. He is hoping for 2017 to be a new phase in his life.

“I don’t want to think about whatever has happened in past, this is waste of time. Thinking about what has been said about me, or what has been reported about me will only dent my concentration. 2017 will be the new beginning for me. I am performing at every level, be it BPL or Quaid e Azam Trophy or the on-going National One Day Cup, and I hope that my day will come soon,” he conceded.
