Just five months into 2022, there have been such incidents that have filled the cricket world with sadness. The world lost the legendary spinner Shane Warne, a great wicketkeeper Rod Marsh, and now one of the greatest all-rounders Andrew Symonds. These legends influenced world cricket with their hard work, consistency, and capability.

Here are 3 famous Australian cricketers who passed away

1. Shane Warne

Shane Warne was found dead in his villa at Koh Samui, Thailand on 4 March 2022. The 52-year-old Australian legend passed away due to a suspected heart attack while he was vacationing in Thailand.

After receiving the Test cap for Australia in 1992, Warne played 145 Test matches and took 708 wickets with a bowling average of 25.41. He is only behind Muttiah Muralitharan who has 800 wickets in Tests. Apart from this, Warne made some contributions with the bat and scored 3154 runs in Test cricket with the help of 12 half-centuries. He is the only cricketer who made over 3000 runs without scoring a century.

Apart from it, he played 194 ODIs and took 293 wickets. He was at the peak of his career during the 1999 World Cup and played a key role in Australia’s victory. Warne became the second bowler after Muralitharan to take more than 1000 international wickets.
