Rajasthan Royals’ star batter Shimron Hetmyer has left the camp to travel back to Guyana to attend the birth of his first child. He will be going through a three-day quarantine period after his arrival to India and as a result, is likely to miss RR’s next contest against the Delhi Capitals set to be played on May 11.

He has been a key player in the RR’s batting line-up and has given some prolific performances this season. In RR’s recently concluded game against the Punjab Kings on Saturday, his finishing touches helped RR seal a final-over victory at the Wankhede Stadium. After a couple of losses, the win was a confidence booster for RR as they also gained two valuable points.

The Caribbean finisher has scored 291 runs in the 11 games played so far at an average of 72.75. Of these 11 games, he has remained unbeaten on seven occasions. His strike rate of 214.28 in the death overs is massive as he has proved to be one of the most destructive finishers this season.

Here are 3 Players who can replace Shimron Hetmyer in the playing XI for their next game:

1. Rassie van der Dussen

Having played just two matches for RR so far in IPL 2022, Van der Dussen has only 10 runs to his name. He made his debut against the Lucknow Super Giants and managed to score only 4(4). He was then continued for the clash against the Gujarat Titans where he scored a 10-ball six runs.

But because he does not have much experience playing the IPL and is new to the setup, there are chances of him making a return to the playing combination.

The 33-year-old can add balance in the middle order and be a helping hand for the experienced Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson if he gets to join them on the field. He is backed with some good T20 records that can be helpful for him to move forward.
