Shubman Gill falls way back in the list of the batsmen that could replace Virat Kohli when it comes to figures. However, his style of play and his form could certainly come to talks when his name is discussed by the selectors. Easily one of the most graceful batsmen to have played for India in the recent past, the right-hander has not had it easy for the Indian team.

In the two games that Gill has played for the country, he could only score 16 runs, which would be considered as a failure in the country. However, apart from just reading the batsman on those two games, the youngster has shone his way in the IPL for the Kolkata Knight Rider. Despite Gill playing at No. 5 and 6 for most parts of the season, he managed to score 296 runs in 14 games.

Gill’s T20 career record is slightly on the better side of the two batsmen mentioned above. In the 29 T20 games that he has played, Gill has scored 614 runs at an average of 32 runs per innings with a high score of 76 runs. His elegance on the field with the bat and his safety as a fielder could easily put him above the other contenders for the coveted position in the Indian batting line-up.
