The mini auctions ahead of IPL 2021 are all set to see the light of the day in the month of February. In the same reference, teams have already come up with their lists of released and retained players for the fresh season. It has always been seen that RCB has believed in much experimenting and shuffling their team for all this while. Even this time around, they released 10-players out of their pool before the upcoming IPL.

One of the released names from the RCB lot popped up to be of all-rounder Shivam Dube. Dube got released out of the Bangalore based franchise owing to his dismal form in IPL 2020. He got to ply his trade in 11 matches where he could scalp only four wickets and amass 129 runs at a poor average of 18.42. However, one team’s loss can be another team’s gain in a matter of time. In the same reference, let’s look at possible teams that may eye Dube for their fresh season.

3 teams that can pick Shivam Dube in IPL 2021 Auction

1. Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan franchise endured a terrible run in the previous season of IPL, where they finished on last in the points table. The spark went missing from the team, and even their skipper Steve Smith couldn’t make much of a difference.

However, with the recent retained list out, it can be seen that they have come up with some bold decisions where skipper Smith has been released, and young Sanju Samson has been loaded with the leadership tasks. With Uthappa not being there, there are two vacant spots, and Dube can definitely take one of them.

If Dube steps in their lot, it would give Samson a great pace option too. The all-rounder might be a surprise package for the team in the middle positions where they struggled big time in the previous season. Dube is already in red hot form in the current season of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 161 runs in 5 matches at a stunning average of 40.25 and RR wouldn’t want to lose the choice.

2. Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab also didn’t have an impressive IPL 2020 campaign in UAE as they finished in 6th position on the points table. They began on a dismal note but marked their bounce back brilliantly by winning five matches on a trot.

However, it has been seen that KXIP have released star Australian player Glenn Maxwell and Karun Nair from their pool. Both the players were not seen amid runs and any significant performance in the entire IPL 2020, and the two vacant spots have created a fine space for a middle-order batsman.

Shivam Dube can fill in the spot perfectly as they need someone with good hitting capabilities to finish up with Nicholas Pooran. The wickets in Mohali also assist the pacers, and he might be a great asset in the home games for the KXIP franchise.

3. Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR had a topsy-turvy ride in the previous season of IPL where they failed to bag the playoffs berth due to poor NRR. They showed some hot and cold form and could never settle with their squad planning. Skipper Dinesh Karthik had to step down from his position due to his dismal batting shows.

In between English skipper, Eoin Morgan took hold of the team, but even that couldn’t do anything good for the team. An experienced all-rounder also remained a big concern for them as their star Andre Russell couldn’t produce anything good with the bat this time, and this leaves a good spot for Shivam Dube to get in.

An experienced all-rounder can strengthen their squad in every sense, and Dube might be that surprise package that can help them with his hitting and pace bowling capabilities in the season coming up soon.
