It may be a surprise to see Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the list. But it may well be a plan from the KKR think-tank. In 2018, Chris Lynn was bought for a big sum of INR 9.6 crore after KKR won a bidding war against RCB. Hence, it was surprising to see KKR release Lynn despite the Queenslander doing well.

However, it could well turn out to be a good move from them. INR 9.6 crore may be too much and they might’ve released KKR to free up their purse a little. They might as well buy him back from the auction at a lower price which would only benefit them.

KKR don’t really have an overseas option with the bat in the top order. Hence, Lynn may be a perfect addition. Moreover, he is accustomed to the team environment and it will be easy for him to fit back. Furthermore, the track at the Eden Gardens has helped his stroke-play and will continue to do so.
