5 Best bowlers of BPL 2015: The third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League saw a close contest between the bat and ball. There were instances when the batsmen ruled the roost while, at other times, the bowlers came up with promising performances. From the bowling point of view, the performances were really good as only one century was scored in the tournament. Three 5-wicket hauls were the highlight of the season and the emergence of new talent from Bangladesh took centerstage. While Mohammad Amir grabbed the headlines in the initial week, Kevon Cooper took the baton later on. Here are the 5 Best bowlers of BPL 2015: 5. Shakib Al Hasan: Shakib Al Hasan. Having bowled 41 overs in this season, Shakib had 18 wickets to his name with a four-wicket haul of 4/16 against Dhaka Dynamites. Shakib was economical and miser as ever as he leaked runs at 6.39 per over, which is acceptable in this format. He also bowled two maidens in this season, next to only Nasir Hossain’s 3 maidens. (Photo Source: AFP) The all-rounder from Sri Lanka played for the Rangpur Riders in this edition of the BPL. Although he was not very influential with the bat, his performances with the ball were remarkable. Perera played 12 matches in the tournament and picked up one of the 3 five wicket hauls of this season. His figures of 5/26 against the Comilla Victorians was hailed by all but went in vain as Victorian won the match by 72 runs. The medium pacer bagged 18 wickets in the tournament with a strike rate of 12.1. He gave away just 245 runs for his 18 wickets and had an average of 6.74 this season. 3. Azhar Zaidi: Karachi-born all-rounder Azhar Zaidi picked up wickets at will with his slow left-arm orthodox in this edition of BPL. Zaidi, playing for the Comilla Victorians, scalped 17 wickets in the season with 4/11 against Riders, a match where he conceded less than 3 runs an over, as his best figures. Zaidi bowled with the best economy rate in the tournament and did not leak any runs as he conceded just 4.78 per over. He picked up a wicket at an average of 10.41 and a striking rate of 13. The Sussex all-rounder was one of the bowling highlights of this season of BPL. He finished being 5th on the leading wicket takers list for this season. 2. Abu Hider: Abu Hider. (Photo Source: BCB) The left arm 19-year-old pacer was undoubtedly the find of the season. Hider scalped a crucial 4/19 in the knockouts against the Riders to take Comilla Victorians to the finals. Although he could not bag a five-wicket haul, he managed to get a couple of four-wicket hauls, both in crunch games, which made him the spearhead of his side. This local talent of the season impressed all with his immaculate line and length. He picked up wickets at a strike rate of 13 and an economy of 6.91, a very reasonable one for pacers in T20s. He picked up 21 wickets in the season. 1. Kevon Cooper Kevon Cooper. (Photo Source: BCB) The West Indian international was perhaps at his peak best during the 3rd edition of Bangladesh Premier League. Kevon Cooper played for the Barisal Bulls this season and had the best strike rate among all bowlers in BPL 3. He bowled with a strike rate of as less as 9.3. His average was the best too as he bowled with a miserly average of 8.70. Cooper had another feather to his cap as he holds the best bowling figures in this season of BPL. His figures of 5/15 against the Rangpur Riders remained unmatched throughout the tournament. At the end of the league, he was the leading wicket-taker with 22 wickets.
