Cricket is one of the sports in which a team needs the support of all their 11 players to win a match. A side rarely wins a game on the back of an individual’s performance. If the players perform to the best of their abilities in their respective departments, then the chances of their side winning the match are quite high. But, sometimes against all the odds, some players end up performing extremely good or bad that can be reckoned as out of the league. These type of performances gives air to some unexpected records at international level.

It is all about having one good day. If a bowler is having a good day then he can pull off some brilliant performances in any department of the game and the same goes with the batsmen as well as fielders. So, we are here to list out some unexpected records held by cricketers that a fan cannot forget ever.

Top 5 unexpected records held by cricketers:

India has produced some big sublime hitters in its cricketing history with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and many more. This list comprises of those players that earned their name as some of the most destructive batsmen in international cricket. But, none of them holds the record for hitting the fastest fifty for India in ODIs.

Fans will be surprised to know that the fastest fifty for India in the 50-over format was scored by none other than the former Indian fast bowler, Ajit Agarkar. In 2000, on a fine day, he came out to bat in the 44th over of the innings against Zimbabwe.

He took the charge from the very first ball of his innings and ended up scoring a fine knock of 67* off 25 balls studded with four sixes and seven boundaries. It was one of his fine days in cricket as he managed a three-fer in the same game. It’s been two decades but that record stands till date in Indian cricket. Agarkar bid adieu to cricket back in 2013 from all forms of cricket.
