Many of us would not be knowing this Gentleman. He was the first Test wicket-keeper ever to play for India. He had donned the gloves in 1932 against England at Lord’s which was India’s debut Test. He played a couple of matches in the format for India.

There are some reports which suggest that he spent his last days as a beggar on the Bombay – Pune Highway. While, some sources have revealed that he was a watchman in a sugar mill in Pune during his last days. It is a pity that a person who represented his country for its first ever Test match ended up as a beggar just before his demise.
