Amidst all the chaos and hearsays, the Cricket World Cup 2019 has finally ended with the home team England, lifting the cup. The high-profile tournament was full of havoc and thrillers and eventually finished in a way, which no cricket aficionado would’ve ever expected. Howbeit, the extravaganza didn’t turn out to be really great for the Indian team as they were knocked out in the semi-finals of the tournament. The team’s ICC tournaments’ woes continued and they failed to lift the silverware for yet another time.

Nevertheless, another ICC tournament i.e. the 7th edition of the T20I World Cup awaits for the Indian team and all other top cricketing nations. Team India, which hasn’t been able to get its hands over the coveted trophy of ICC tournaments after 2013, will like to enter the tournament with full preparations. The championship will begin on 18 October 2020 and will last till November 15, 2020.

Hence, the Men In Blue, have a lot of time to prepare for the tournament and form a core team. Ever since the inception of the Indian Premier League, the country has produced innumerable no. of T20 talents and is still doing so. And as the WT20 2020 is inching closer, the team will like to solve its middle-order woes and pick some destructive batsmen who can turn out to be handy in the upcoming event.

Here, we’ll have a look at some of those batsmen

1. Suryakumar Yadav

The shining star of Indian cricket, Suryakumar Yadav, is one of the finest talents going around in the Indian circuit. The right-handed batsman made his First-Class debut during 2010, wherein, he top-scored for his team and there’s been no looking back since then. During the Ranji season, the lad impressed a lot of viewers and eventually got an IPL contract in the following year which lasted for 3 years.

After 2013, he moved to the Kolkata Knight Riders and turned out to be a major part of the team because of his invaluable cameos down the order. During IPL 11, he was again bought back by the Mumbai Indians and went on to become the highest run-scorer for the team in that season.

The 28-year old is a very talented bloke and has quite a good game for spinners. The Mumbai-born has a beautiful wrist work and is technically blessed. He is one the verge of getting selected in the Indian team and we might see him playing for India on the highest level in the next T20I World Cup.

2. Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana is one of the rising stars of the Indian cricket fraternity. The lad is currently a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and plays first-class cricket for his hometown Delhi. He made his Ranji Trophy debut back in 2015 and amassed a total of 557 runs at a dashing average of 50.63.

The season went quite well for the 25-year old as he ended up being the second-highest run-scorer of his team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well. What followed this wonderful run was another scintillating performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, wherein, he scored 299 runs in 8 innings at an unbelievable strike rate of 175.88.

The Delhi Cricketer has shown signs of glory in the IPL as well. He has a sound technique and a very solid personality. The Southpaw, on several occasions, has been handy with the ball too. Hence, if a vacancy pops up, selecting Rana in the squad before the T20 World Cup 2020, won’t be a bad decision.

3. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw’s talent isn’t hidden from anyone. The Mumbai lad has played exceptionally well every time he has been given opportunities. The Mumbai Cricket led India to its 4th U19 World Cup triumph in 2018 and there has been no looking back for him since then. After winning the World Cup on the junior level, the lad soon got an IPL contract with the Delhi Daredevils during IPL 11.

He had a decent season as he played a very handy cameo of 22 runs in 10 balls in his debut game and also scored his first IPL 50, a few games later. Howbeit, one of the highlights of his IPL career came out in 2019 when while playing against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the 19-year old was stranded on the score of 99 runs.

Shaw has already made his international debut for India in red-ball cricket and also has a century to his name. The guy has a relaxed way of playing and is still quite destructive. The time he gets whilst playing on backfoot is one of the best parts of gameplay and this could turn out to be really helpful in T20I cricket. Thus, seeing him play the next edition of the T20 World Cup won’t be a big shock.

4. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan is considered as the next big thing of Indian Cricket. Hailing from the streets of Bihar, the 21-year old has achieved enormous success on the national level and is just one step away from getting selected in the national squad. The lad was the skipper of the U-19 team of India which took part in the U19 Cricket World Cup 2014 and is currently leading the Jharkhand cricket team in the domestic circuit.

Kishan has got a very high-quality attacking game against spinners. The range of shots that the lad possesses is one of the bests amongst the current lot. The Patna-born is pretty good as a Wicket-Keeper too and has a fine blend of street-smartness just like his idol MS Dhoni.

There’s no denying to the fact that if Kishan is played at relevant positions and given enough time to progress, then the Wicket Keeper will undoubtedly go on to become a very valuable prospect for the Indian team and might play a very important role in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

5. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is one of the hottest properties of Indian cricket, at this moment. The lad has already made his international debut and has even played a World Cup for India. Despite being very young, the Wicket-Keeper batsman has already shown some really good signs with the bat. The lad is extremely destructive and has given some best bowlers of this world, a run for their money.

Pant has exactly the same sort of stroke play and muscle-power, which modern-day cricket requires. The Southpaw is a no-nonsense player and is really sorted with his plans. His approach with the bat can prove out to be really useful for India in the upcoming days. The Uttarakhand-born cricketer has done a pretty good job behind the wickets too and has a good game against both, pacers as well as spinners.

With all the odds on his side, Rishabh Pant seems a sure shot in the Indian team which will take part in the T20 World Cup, later next year.
