The focus was on overseas bowlers who eventually emerged as the costliest picks of the season. Ben Stokes was roped in by Rising Pune Supergiant for a whopping INR 14.5 crore making him the biggest buy of the auction. He has bowled with pace, consistently clocking over 140 clicks and shown the ability to bowl well during the slog overs. Many experts have already deemed as a future prospect for the Indian team.

The 23-year-old has picked up 6 wickets so far in 8 matches and is currently the second highest wicket-taker for his team behind Andrew Tye. His best performance of 3/29 came against Mumbai Indians recently. Thampi has been mighty impressive throughout the season with his pace and the skills to generate reverse swing.
