The primary reason for them being in the last position in the points table of this edition is due to the absence of key players, who had done well for the team in the last three-four editions. 5. Quinton de Kock

The wicket-keeper batter from South Africa made his debut for MI in the 2019 edition, after being traded by Royal Challengers Bangalore. He immediately made an impact in the tournament, smashing 529 runs in 16 innings, and emerged as the third-highest run-scorer as well. Quinton’s overall performance helped MI to secure their fourth title in the IPL history.

In the following edition, he notched up 503 runs in 16 innings and returned as the sixth highest run-scorer in the tournament, again being one of the reasons, why MI became only the second team to defend their title in the tournament. In the 2021 edition, Quinton de Kock garnered 297 runs in 11 innings and had an average season, while the team also failed to seal the playoffs spot. In this edition, he is plying his trade for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and has accumulated 188 runs in five innings, so far.
