The third edition of Abu Dhabi T10 League is expected to garner a lot of attention due to its one of a kind format. The tournament is scheduled to start from November 15, 2019, to November 24, 2019, at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, in Abu Dhabi. Eight teams are scheduled to enthral the audience with their scintillating performances. Team Abu Dhabi, Qalandars and Bangla Tigers are the new entrants in this year’s T10 League who have come in place of Pakhtoons, Kerala Knights, and Punjabi Legends.

The 10-over format will be a treat for all the cricket fans as they will witness humongous sixes and exciting death-overs bowling. The fast-paced league comprising of many prominent cricketers is anticipated to attract an audience all around the globe. The tournament will be an excellent opportunity for youngsters and lesser-known players to showcase their potential.

IPL 2020 is not too far and the franchises will be scanning the stand-out performers of the T10 League. These players will emerge as hot favourites to be picked for the upcoming IPL season for their explosive batting or economical bowling.

1. Anton Devcich

Having the potential to contribute in both the departments, Devcich is known for his explosive style of batting. Devcich started his career as a specialist bowler before transforming himself and moving into the number three spot. After donning the New Zealand shirt in the U19 World Cup 2004, the left-hander could play only 12 ODIs for his national side. However, he has the experience of playing domestic leagues all around the world.

The 34-year-old also has an impressive first-class record where he has gathered 2826 runs in 56 matches at an average of 30.06. Devcich will bolster the Deccan Gladiators’ line-up by his explosive batting and left-arm orthodox spells. Devcich had also left an impact in the last edition of T10 league by his blistering 64-run knock off 23 balls against Bengal Tigers while playing for Sindhis.

The left-hander had played one of the best knocks of his career in Global T20 Canada last year while playing for Toronto Nationals. Devcich played an unbeaten 92-run knock off just 44 balls to help his side cross the 200-run mark. Due to his all-round abilities including fielding skills, Devcich will be under the radar for many IPL franchises if he delivers impressive performances in this year’s T10 League too.

2. Luke Ronchi

IPL franchises are always hunting for a wicketkeeper who can also bolster their batting attack. With decent wicketkeeping skills and explosive batting, Ronchi has been considered as a specialist in the shorter formats of the game. He has been a regular member of the ODI and T20I squads since his New Zealand debut. He has played some crucial innings for the Kiwis and has also showcased his batting forte in various domestic leagues too.

Despite being at the end of his international career, Ronchi has the capability to play crucial knocks for his side. The 38-year-old can provide good starts and can finish off things in the death overs too. Ronchi also has the experience of playing 100 First-class matches where he has amassed 5614 runs at an average of 39.25 including 16 tons. The right-hander has also played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians in the 2008-09 season. He played five matches for them but gathered only 34 runs.

Ronchi will be donning the Qalandars’ jersey in the T10 league where he is expected to strengthen their batting attack alongside skipper Shahid Afridi. He has also represented Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League. In the 2018 edition of PSL, Ronchi scored a half-century off 19 balls for Islamabad United, the second-fastest in the history of the Pakistan Super League.

3. Chris Jordan

Injuries have played a crucial role in hampering Chris Jordan’s international career graph. However, the Barbados-born pacer has shown his forte in many domestic leagues. The 6’2 pacer is set to play for the Qalandars squad where he is expected to lead their bowling attack from the front.

Jordan has played 31 ODIs for England and has snapped 43 wickets which also includes a five-wicket haul. The 31-year-old has a phenomenal record in First-class cricket. He has scalped 335 wickets in 114 matches at an impressive economy of 3.39. He will serve as one of the most experienced players in the Qalandars side.

The pacer was one of the key players for England in the 2016 T20 World Cup where he was appreciated for his death bowling spells. Jordan also had stints with Royal Challengers Bangalore (2016) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (2017-18) but failed to leave a mark in either side. Jordan, who can also put up crucial runs with the bat, will be under scanner for IPL franchises who are looking forward to bolstering their bowling attack.

4. Tom Banton

Touted as the future star for England, Tom Banton will be eager to prove his worth in the T10 League. The wicketkeeper-batsman recently made his T20I debut against New Zealand. The budding cricketer is soon expected to break into England’s ODI and Test side too.

Despite having less international exposure, Banton has emerged as a crucial player for Somerset due to his hard-hitting style of batting. The 21-year-old is also labelled as the successor of Jos Buttler. IPL franchises, who are eager to invest and groom young talents will be analysing Banton’s performance in the T10 League. Banton smashed his maiden ton against Kent in the T20 Blast 2019, where the world saw a glimpse of his stellar batting ability.

The right-handed batsman has played 12 First-class matches and has gathered 570 runs including five half-centuries. If Banton lives up to his potential, he can certainly develop into a crucial player for his national side. He is currently one of the most sought-after young wicketkeeper-batsmen in the world.

5. Rilee Rossouw

After proving his worth in Bangladesh and Pakistan, Rossouw will be eager to make an impact on the Indian soil too. The elegant left-hander represented South Africa in ODIs before opting for a Kolpak deal in English county cricket at Hampshire. The 30-year-old has delivered some impressive for the Proteas in his international career. He has 3 ODI centuries under his belt while representing the Proteas for 36 matches.

Rossouw’s first-class record has also been phenomenal. He has gathered 7363 runs in 108 matches at an average of 40.90 including 19 tons. In the past, Rossouw had a stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore but failed to grab the limelight. Rossouw was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011 for the fourth edition of IPL.

Recently, Rossouw caught many eyeballs after smashing a quick-fire ton against Chittagong Vikings in the sixth edition of Bangladesh Premier League. He smashed his century in just 51 balls. Rossouw, who can be utilised in the top-order, will be under the radar of many IPL franchises.
