Bishoo is the only specialist spinner in the 12-man West Indies squad for the first Test after he was preferred over left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican. The 30-year old is a small package physically and but uses it to his advantage very intelligently. His most dangerous ball is perhaps the flipper which stays low and often traps batsman in front of the stumps for lbw.

Bishoo last played in Sri Lanka in October 2015 before he picked up an injury as soon as he reached Australia for the 4 Test tour. Jomel Warrican did well for a debutant but once Bishoo was fit, the selectors were eager to have him back on the field. He had a decent series against India in 2011 where he picked up 7 wickets at Sabina Park.

Injury concerns are a thing of the past now for Bishoo who is ready to bowl longer spells, transforming to the 5-day game and he will be willing to reward the selectors with their choice as soon as the series gets underway.
