The Indian Premier League, that has been evolving all through the years, saw another change being made to its governing policies for the 2020 season which has become the talking point ever since it was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The new policy that has been introduced is called the ‘Inter Team Loan System’. This would allow the franchises to loan out players who fall under the criterion set by the board to other teams on the halfway mark of the league stage of the tournament.

The introduction of this could see a lot of transfers being done and the teams would try to fill out all of the loopholes that were left in their line-ups after the auction. The management of all the franchises will be drafting out names of the players to be given out prior to the start of the tournament. This would leave them with a definitive roster to choose their final XI from.

So, here’s a look at 5 such names who could be seen changing jerseys halfway through the tournament this year:

1. Murali Vijay

Once a batting mainstay of the Chennai Super Kings found himself warming the bench of the team’s dugout through most of the 2019 season of the Indian Premier League. He has not been a part of any form of competitive cricket since the October of 2019 and would be the first choice for the Chennai Super Kings to give out as a loaned player if the need comes.

Vijay played only two matches in the 2019 season and in those two matches, he was able to score 64 runs at an average of 32 and a strike rate of 104.92. His strike rate is low by the standards of modern-day opening batsmen who get open fields to hit the ball to the boundary in the first six overs of the match.

While he may not be a great fit for CSK, the experience he has behind his back could prove to be a boon for any team that he joins. In his IPL career, he has played 103 innings and has an aggregate of 2587 runs to his name, which is no mean a feat.

In the 2020 season of the IPL, Shane Watson, like the previous years will be opening the batting along Faf du Plessis or some other player and definitely not Murali Vijay. This makes him a perfect choice for the CSK team management to loan out to other teams if needed.
